At Agile we see physiotherapy as a way of relieving pain, optimizing physical function, and ultimately improving performance, whatever form that takes.

We specialise in treating musculoskeletal problems, involving injury to structures such as joints, ligaments, muscles, tendons, and nerves. Injuries can occur due to a specific traumatic incident, such as twisting an ankle whilst playing football or dislocating a shoulder when falling off a bike. Injury can also occur from simply putting the body under too much strain before it has developed the strength to tolerate it, for example trying to run too far too soon.

While it is more common for people to seek physiotherapy when they are injured or in pain, physiotherapists can also help with preventing injury by identifying underlying physical deficits. By addressing these, you can reduce your risk of injury in the future, particularly if you are about to take up a new sport or type of exercise.

So, if you have any pain or injury, whether from sitting at your desk too much or due to a sporting mishap, or even if you just want to improve your physical condition and performance, we are here to help you.

Regularly seeing a massage therapist can help speed up recovery after sporting activities or injury, as well as improve the body’s posture and performance. This treatment is not just for reacting to injuries but also prevention. By seeing a massage therapist it can allow for early recognitive of potential problems in preventing injury. Our amazing team can also help decrease areas of tightness, increase range of motion and muscle flexibility. This can give you some much needed back pain or muscle ache relief after a tough game or a busy day at work. Massage therapy not only impacts the physical body but the mental state as well by helping you physically relax, increase energy levels and stimulates the brain for clearer thinking.

At Agile we see pilates as a way of moving the body to relieve pain, optimize physical function, and ultimately improving performance.

We see a variety of problems in the studio, whether it is an injury from cycling, a chronic condition or you are recovering from surgery we can help you make your body more robust.

The key to building a robust body is by strengthening from the inside out. By developing & strengthening our core, increasing core activation/awareness, using our breath to help with our connection and its connection to the rest of the body we can increase overall strength and ability to move efficiently. The other key pillar of pilates is spinal movement and the importance of building movement, strength with movement and proprioception to help with optimal movement. These are all important factors to work on as we age or put our body through the next big test.

While it is more common for people to seek help when they are injured or in pain, our pilates instructors can also help with preventing injury by identifying underlying physical deficits. By addressing these, you can reduce your risk of injury in the future, increase mindfulness and your connection within the body, and then optimal functional performance can be achieved.

So, if you have any pain or injury, whether from sitting at your desk too much or due to a sporting mishap, or even if you just want to improve your physical condition and performance, we are here to help you.
